The Bond Committee for Anacortes Schools has established this website to provide information to our community on why it is critical that we pass the bond measure coming before our voters in February. Explore this site through the links at the top of this page.

Thanks to the successful bond effort of more than ten years ago, many of our schools are now in great shape to continue to provide quality education to our children. But the High School and Mount Erie school, which were not fully renovated, need urgent safety and structural improvements.

The High School is clearly in need of our help. The effects of time, weather, and almost a thousand students per day have taken their toll on the facility. In addition, our facilities are becoming more critical every year to the community as groups use the buildings on nights and weekends. Groups as diverse as Parks and Recreation, the An-O-Chords, the Scouts, Special Olympics, the Senior College, and many others depend on the district to provide safe indoor and outdoor facilities in good condition for their use. We’re a small town, without convention centers and hotel ballrooms…so these facilities are our only places to meet.

Our site includes photos to show some of the areas that must be addressed quickly if we are to avoid losing what we have now.

And if you’re willing, you can help us help the school bond effort. Please consider making a contribution of your time or money.

Thank you!
